Bryansburn Frustrated Again

Although the other Bryansburn games were called off on Friday it looked like the 1^st XI were going to get there 4^th Round Coca Cola Intermediate Cup tie at Newcastle played when the pitch passed an inspection at 9.30am. However, rain continued to fall and a further inspection at 11am saw the game called off just as the Bryansburn squad were leaving Ballywooley. The tie now switches to Ballywooley this Saturday, kick-off 1.30pm, as the sides try for the 3^rd week running to get the game played. The prize for the winners in the 5^th Round is a home draw against Ballyclare Comrades who won 3-2 at Dundela on Saturday. All support for Bryansburn would be most welcome. 

Training continues at Bangor Sportsplex tonight (Thur) from 7pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 8pm to 9.30pm. Players are reminded that attendance in training and payment of any outstanding debts will be taken into consideration when teams are selected for Saturday.  

Fixtures this Saturday : 1^st XI V Newcastle (h), 2^nd XI V Iveagh United ll (a), 3^rd XI v Bangor YM lll (a) and 4^th XI V Comber YM ll (h) in the Quarterfinal of the Mervyn Bassett Cup.

For those interested in the Annual Club Trip, the current price has now risen to £175 for return flights to Newcastle and three nights in a Travelodge Hotel leaving on Friday 30^th May returning Monday 2^nd June. Note that a price of £150 is available travelling with a different airline but staying at the same hotel. Please contact Alan Dempster if you wish to join the travelling party.

A bus trip to Down Royal as been arranged for St Patrick’s Day, cost is £10 for the return trip. Those interested please book your place with Alan Dempster. 

Finally two social events have been organised in the Clubhouse over the next month. On 22^nd February there will be a Poker Night and on 8^th March a Pool Tournament. Those interested in either of these competitions should give their name to Johnny Ferris.
